Ever heard of the Entourage Effect when taking CBD?

The Entourage Effect- sounds mysterious and something out of a SciFi movie doesn’t it? My journey with CBD began a few years ago when I tried CBD oil drops at night to help me relax and numb a nagging pain in my back. Previously I had been taking Tylenol PM but read that it wasn’t a great idea for my liver to be taking it every day. The CBD worked really well and I completely weaned off the Tylenol within a week. This switch really impressed me and so I decided to do some more research on the benefits of hemp-based CBD.

The more I learned, the more intrigued I was- especially by the Entourage Effect. It turns out that when you consume multiple cannabinoids including CBD, CBG, CBN, terpenes and trace amounts of THC, that the dose is more effective than when you consume each ingredient separately. In other words the cannabinoids and terpenes are reacting both with your body and with each other to improve the effectiveness of your dose. Incredible stuff- but the more I experimented, the more convinced I became that CBD and THC work best when taken together- the effect is more pronounced and long lasting in my own personal experience.

The theory is well supported, but the research so far is patchy. In my opinion it is a personal preference that you validate yourself by trial and error.

The product that I gravitate towards is the Full Spectrum Soft Gel from Integrity Hempceuticals. This product has a trace (less than 0.3%) of THC which makes it federally compliant . Their products are consistently well made and use organically grown ingredients. https://www.integrityhempceuticals.com/hempceuticals/SOFT-GELS-UNREFINED-FULL-SPECTRUM-SG-1500mg-CBD-p242187328

They come in a soft gel format, which I like as they are easy to swallow.

This product is great value for money at $60- around a dollar a capsule. I take one a day around bedtime and feel that I get relief and get a benefit 24/7.
